Rob understands that knowing our clients is our first, most important job. We need to understand people’s wants, fears and needs before we can help them implement suitable, meaningful investment plans. Process and good decision making go hand in hand. Investing is easy when markets move higher. Rob encourages people to trust process and strength of relationships for confidence when markets move the wrong direction.
Having spent roughly a decade providing tax services and advice to individuals and small business owners, Rob appreciates the importance of collaboration between trusted advisors. Along with his colleagues at Private Ocean, Rob has strong relationships with experts specializing in law, tax and insurance, and eagerly works with them to be sure his clients’ needs are met in all areas of their financial lives.
Rob enjoys tennis, softball and just about anything featuring Will Farrell. He and his wife spend much of their time away from work watching their three kids play sports and perform in recitals and plays. The Lanes can almost always be found pulling Dungeness crab out of Hood Canal around the 4th of July.
